Shaggy figures rattling and grimacing through the streets. Krampus and Perchten runs have become an integral part of the Advent season in Tyrol. A Krampus run or Perchten run is an unforgettable experience and is as much a part of Innsbruck's mountain Christmas as the famous Christmas market or the contemplative Advent carol singing. From the end of November to the beginning of December, you can also experience this special tradition in the city of Innsbruck. By the way: Perchten are figures of a traditional custom from pagan times. The stronghold of this custom is mainly in the Austrian Eastern Alps.
