KLANG_SPRACHEN mit Gerhard Ruis 2024

The interdisciplinary event series klang_sprachen aims to interweave contemporary music and poetry. In June 2024, the successful and innovative project will continue with a collaboration between the Tyrolean chamber orchestra InnStrumenti and the W:ORTE poetry festival, with concerts in Vienna, Innsbruck, Bludenz and Lower Austria. For the 8th edition, texts by the renowned Austrian writer Gerhard Ruiss form the starting point. Six composers were commissioned especially for this evening to create new pieces of music and to relate music and text to each other in a variety of creative ways. The programme includes world premieres by Melissa Coleman, Johanna Doderer, Viola Falb, Ruth Goller, Susanna Ridler and Helmut Sprenger. The compositions and the texts recited by the writer merge and the boundaries between reading and concert become blurred. It is both or something completely new, because the language is given new perspectives through the new sonic context.
