Fronleichnamsprozession Zirl mit Frühschoppen 2022

On Corpus Christi Day, the Corpus Christi procession takes place in Zirl, with a field service on the village square followed by a morning pint in the new B4 event centre.

The day begins at 6.00 a.m. with the day bell ringing (lasting 20 minutes) and the firing of firecrackers. The actual procession begins at 8.30 am at the parish church. This procession has been held for hundreds of years. However, the route has been shortened and altered time and again. Along the way, most of the houses are decorated with small altars in the windows, flags and birch boughs.

The route runs as follows: Parish church - Auergasse - Meilstraße - Alter Dorfplatz - Kirchstraße - parish church - B4

The following figures and statues are carried (in alphabetical order):
Mary, Mother of God, St Sebastian, Infant Jesus, Mother Anne, Guardian Angel, statue with depictions from the Passion (sweat cloth, cross,...). In addition, 4 large church flags are carried.
