A species-rich animal life in a city? Most of us are surprised when we experience for the first time the multitude of creatures that are also at home in our cities. During the day, many animals stay hidden and become active again in the evening. Hedgehogs, foxes, toads, bats and moths and many fascinating small animals also inhabit our cities. Again and again we hear of deer and martens, some of which come right up to the gardens, especially in the peripheral areas, close to meadow and forest.
