Christmas magic in the Tyrolean Oberland: experience traditions & customs

The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner again. When the contemplative Advent season begins in the Tiroler Oberland adventure region, traditional customs and atmospheric rituals come to life. Numerous festive events get visitors in the mood for Christmas.

A special highlight is the annual Rieder Schlossadvent at Sigmundsried Castle, where the sounds of Advent, horse-drawn carriage rides, lovingly decorated stalls and local delicacies create a festive atmosphere. The popular "Krippa schauga" in Pfunds also attracts numerous guests. Handmade nativity scenes can be admired here.

In Prutz, the joy of Christmas is palpable with the "Advent Market" and "Advent im Winkl" - Christmas spirit is guaranteed here. The "Grüble" forest trail in Ried is transformed into the contemplative "Grüble Christmas Trail" in keeping with the Advent season. You enter the decorated path through a festive Christmas gate, which leads past magical adventure stations - a special highlight for the whole family.

The Badsteig Wichtelwald forest in Pfunds is also transformed into an atmospheric Christmas forest. Snowmen, Christmas angels, a hand-carved nativity scene, decorated Christmas trees and an exciting Christmas puzzle await visitors.
