Continuity and unity
Helmut Naschberger remains Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TVB Kufsteinerland, Simon Hermann Huber his deputy. When it comes to the election of the Management Board, "there will be no experimentsfor the new five-year term of office , but a strong sign of continuity, unity and cohesion," said Supervisory Board Chairman Helmut Naschberger. There was only one nomination in all three voting groups for the election of the Supervisory Board.
With Chairman Georg Hörhager, Peter Mayer (1st Deputy Chairman) and Emanuel Präauer (2nd Deputy Chairman), the Supervisory Board continued to express its confidence in the existing Executive Board team. The actions of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board were approved for the past financial year at the Annual General Meeting.
Key figures for the 2023 financial year:
TVB Kufsteinerland received an unqualified audit opinion for the 2023 annual financial statements. Total assets: EUR 7,690,401.17 (EUR +1,581,659.75), result from ordinary association activities: EUR 1,708,209.82 (EUR -318,628.18), equity: EUR 7,329 thousand (EUR +1.696 thousand).
Chairman Georg Hörhager on his re-election: "I am very grateful for the trust placed in me. Over the next few years, we must continue to consistently pursue the path we have chosen. The course has been set and measures must be taken to increase the length of stay. Today, Kufsteinerland is a year-round destination with an excellent and exceptional cultural programme and a very clear focus. We have consistently honed our profile as a top cultural region and we can see that the seeds are being sown. The certification and award of the Austrian Ecolabel for Destinations is also an important signal. Internally and externally for our guests, it proves that it is important to us - together with all the municipalities - to develop our living space together in a future-proof and grandchild-friendly way. This will also benefit us in terms of tourism marketing. Many businesses are already working intensively on the topic of sustainability."
Kufsteinerland will maintain its consistent positioning on culture and gentle nature experiences with a focus on vitality. "Active in nature during the day, cultural enjoyment at its finest in the evening - that's what Kufsteinerland stands for," emphasises TVB Supervisory Board Chairman Helmut Naschberger. And: "The cultural and tourist offer, the variety and quality on offer here are impressive. It is a great collaboration and commitment of many who make this possible - from the small to the really big stages in the region and from the private room landlords to the city hotel industry and successful businesses focussing on health, vitality or cuisine."
Local tax: increase to € 3.50 decided from May 2025
An increase in the local tax was also decided at the general assembly. From May 2025, it will be € 3.50 in all Kufsteinerland municipalities. The statutory tax of € 2.60, instead of the previous € 2.00, is already due from December of this year. "Increases are traditional and naturally always cause for discussion. This is understandable, but this step was necessary and correct due to inflation and the new legal framework, so that the association can continue to successfully fulfil its tasks and duties. In 11 of the 34 Tyrolean tourism associations, the local tax is already € 3.50 or even significantly higher," says Helmut Naschberger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Small increase in winter, slight decrease in summer
For the tourism year 2023/2024, Kufsteinerland recorded a total of 318,885 overnight stays (+1.34 per cent) in winter (01.11.2023-30.04.2024) and 477,347 overnight stays (-2.45 per cent) in summer (01.05.-31.10.). "Periods of bad weather and major international sporting events, such as the European Football Championships and the Olympic Games, also depressed our summer results. In addition, there were some closures in the region due to remodelling. Taking all of this into account, our businesses almost equalled last year's result," says TVB Chairman Georg Hörhager.
A total of 796,232 overnight stays were recorded in Kufsteinerland (01/11/2023-31/10/2024), the average length of stay was 2.9 days, as in the same period of the previous year.
