Kitzbühel and Kirchberg are well-known meeting places for World Cup feeling and top sporting performances in winter - now they are also in summer. The Red Bull X-Alps are an ideal match for the dynamic spirit of Kitzbühel and Kirchberg.
That's why Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel, together with the tourism associations of Kitzbühel and Kirchberg, have been working hard for two years to bring the start location for the 20th edition of the Red Bull X-Alps to Kitzbühel and the kick-off (prologue) to Kirchberg. The event is a perfect fit for these three partners. The efforts to reach a sporty, younger target group and to make the region known worldwide as a potential holiday destination for new groups of guests are fulfilled 100 per cent here. The Red Bull X-Alps are considered the largest digital outdoor event in the world with an audience of millions, who follow the athletes via live tracking from the start, allowing the region around Kitzbühel and Kirchberg to be perfectly showcased.

ABOUT RED BULL X-ALPSRedBull X-Alps is the toughest adventure race in the world. Red Bull X-Alps was founded in 2003 by adventurer Hannes Arch (now deceased) and Ulrich Grill and takes place every two years. The race in 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the first edition. Around 30 world-class athletes compete in a two-week head-to-head race, covering up to 150 km a day on foot or by paraglider, passing through set turnpoints on the highest mountains in the Alps and in famous holiday resorts. As the athletes often climb up to 4,000 metres of altitude per day and cover more than a hundred kilometres on foot, the race is not only a test of their physical endurance, but also of their flying skills. Red Bull X-Alps is the ultimate test of body and mind and is exclusively for the world's best paragliding pilots and adventure athletes.
