The holiday region of Zell-Gerlos, Zillertal Arena leaves nothing to be desired, whether for active holidaymakers, those seeking peace and quiet, families or professional athletes, everyone gets their money's worth here. TVB Stuttgart took advantage of the optimal conditions for the fifth time and spent its summer training camp in Zell am Ziller from 16 - 22 July 2023.
The "WILD BOYS", as the handball Bundesliga players are also called, appreciate the varied training opportunities in Zell-Gerlos in the heart of the Zillertal. For handball training, they were not only to be found in the sports hall, but also took advantage of the sports facilities in the Zell leisure park. Running sessions or cycling tours along the Ziller also provided a lot of variety in the daily training routine. For the first time, TVB Stuttgart was a guest in Zell am Ziller at the same time as the Bundesliga football team SV Werder Bremen and so the players were able to exchange ideas during talks and a small training session.
"As in previous years, the 4-star superior Hotel Theresa hosted the team from Stuttgart. They found time to relax there and were able to enjoy the excellent cuisine as well as the hospitality of the Egger family. A hut evening at the Kreithütte, a golf tournament with the sponsors and other activities in the fresh mountain air strengthened the team spirit of the professional team," GF Christian Daum is pleased to report.
After the coaching change, the new coach Michael Schweikardt and his team were able to prepare the players optimally for the 2023/2024 season: "As in previous years, the overall package consisting of the Hotel Theresa, the sports halls and the other training facilities around Zell-Gerlos provided us with excellent conditions for the training camp. Everyone involved felt more than comfortable this year as well."
