For its 10th birthday, the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau received a new landmark with "Top of Alpbachtal", including a chairlift, which has now been ceremoniously inaugurated.
Alpbachtal/Wildschönau - With the merger of the two ski areas ten years ago, the Alpbachtal and Wildschönau started into a common future. At that time, we fought for eleven years for the connecting lift that now leads from Inneralpbach to the Schatzberg. With success. Under the name "Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau", the new ski area grew from 55 to 113 kilometres of pistes with a total of 47 lifts.
To mark its anniversary, the Ski Juwel has now been given a new 6-seater chairlift and a new landmark in the form of the "Top of Alpbachtal" observation tower. The newly built lift including the new top station offers unique views at the highest point in the ski area. A nice birthday present for the ski area. And this was duly celebrated at the weekend.
Ski guests went on a jewel hunt and could win great prizes such as day ski passes and even a ski holiday. The mascots Lauser and Juppi greeted the smallest ski guests and ensured an exuberant atmosphere. There was also a fun children's programme in the new Zwergenland at the Schatzbergbahn middle station.
The musicians of the Kundler Guggamusig were on the road throughout the ski area and played hearty tunes. The music bands, initiators and guests of honour from the Wildschönau and Alpbachtal met for a colourful birthday party in the Gipfö Hit on the Schatzberg. The illustrious crew of the Chaos Waiters provided many laughs, while people listened to the story of the origins of the connecting railway while enjoying the finest food.
