New - Digital Business & Tech Law (LL.M.)

Digital technologies offer innovative companies great opportunities to bring their business ideas to the market. Be it the integration into an online trading platform or the implementation of cryptocurrency (e.g. Bitcoin) as an accepted means of payment - these innovations pose not only practical, but above all legal questions. Legal advisory professions such as law firms and management consultancies, as well as economic players, authorities and interest groups, have a specific need for expertise in the law of digitalisation.

This is precisely where the new Executive LL.M. programme comes in and provides a decisive market and competitive advantage within two semesters. The part-time course deals with current and future challenges of digitalisation and technology in companies and organisations from a legal perspective. Decision-makers and consultants in law-related professions receive a business-related and practical "upgrade".

The advantage of the Digital Business & Tech Law Master's programme at the Entrepreneurial School® lies in its interactive and compact online format, which allows participants to combine their studies with their profession. The German language and a Central European focus were deliberately chosen in order to guarantee managers and junior managers in-depth and at the same time targeted further training on the European market.

Dr Lukas Staffler is the academic director of the Master of Laws, accompanied by a high-ranking academic board: "In order for the law to keep pace with economic and social changes, it needs the creativity of motivated and dynamic legal advisors. The LL.M. programme is designed to support and promote this creativity from an entrepreneurial and practice-oriented perspective," says Dr. Lukas Staffler, summarising the new study programme.

Susanne E. Herzog, Head of Executive Education at MCI, describes the positioning of the programme in terms of content: "The entire programme is characterised by an entrepreneurial spirit. Within two semesters, students develop into pioneers of digital transformation and acquire key skills in digitalisation and law in order to support companies and organisations in the diverse challenges of the digital age."

MCI Rector Prof. Dr Andreas Altmann adds: "The newly developed Executive LL.M. is based on MCI's more than 20 years of expertise in executive education and training. Working students want an LL.M. programme that promotes career development and prepares them for digital challenges in a dynamic environment".

The new Master of Laws programme will be offered at MCI, which has positioned itself as an Entrepreneurial School® and holds international AACSB accreditation. The programme will start for the first time in November 2021 and online applications are already open.
