Nauders and the Reschenpass are among the leading biking destinations in the Alps and are consistently expanding this unique selling point with the recently completed Zirmtrail and the four bike trails for children and beginners. With an investment of 300,000 euros, the tourism association and the mountain railways paved the way for the GOLDBIKEPARK. A future-oriented milestone for the region to further strengthen summer tourism. In the presence of Anton Mattle, Tyrol's regional councillor for economic affairs, those responsible celebrated the opening of the new highlight trails on 10 September.
With the opening of the Zirmtrail and the Kidsbiketrails, which was ceremonially introduced by a flag ride of the children from the Bikclub Nauders, Nauders lays the foundation stone for a comprehensive beginners' area on the Bergkastel plateau at 2,200 metres. The kids' bike trails with conveyor belt are structured in such a way that you gradually approach the bike handling for the new Zirmtrail from the flat Kidsloop circuit via four further routes. In doing so, those responsible paid particular attention to intuitive progression and playful learning, among other things with small jumps and doubles, stone fields and Northshore elements. The area is embedded in the adventure landscape and always visible for parents.310,000€ were invested in the new offer. Of this, the Zirmtrail comprises around €240,000 gross - this was subsidised by the Tyrol Landscape Service Department with around €100,000 gross. The share for the kids' bike trails is about €70,000. The own funds are shared by the tourism association and Nauderer Bergbahnen.Anton Mattle, the regional councillor for economic affairs, was impressed by the additional offer: "Nauders has been a popular meeting place for bikers for years. With the Zirmtrail and the children's tours, this position has now been strengthened. I congratulate all those responsible for this project. "All levels of ability taken into accountTheZirmtrail manages the balancing act of being equally suitable for beginners and advanced bikers. A nimble design lets experienced enduro bikers literally take off, while newcomers get grip and safety. The varied design invites slow cruising, but also offers the option for fast-paced riding. The five-kilometre-long green trail is a true all-rounder: thanks to its wealth of variants and the countless undulating tracks and curves, jump and stone field variations, it brings enormous fun for trail novices and advanced riders alike. The Zirmtrail promises to become the preferred warm-up circuit for 3-country enduro riders, says trail designer Stefan Falkeis.Manuel Baldauf, managing director of the Nauders adventure area, emphasises: "The new area is a well thought-out system of trails that build on each other. This is a playful way to learn how to handle the bike safely and to gradually approach the Zirmtrail. With this forward-looking project, we have managed to break the ice with the masses in order to get young and young-at-heart interested in biking. We used to talk about skiing in the summer - now we live it. Next to skiing, biking is the sport that can be enjoyed with the whole family. "With the Zirmbahn on epic trailsAmodern 8-seater chairlift takes bikers directly to the Zirmbahn mountain station at 2,500m above sea level amidst the grandiose backdrop of the Tyrolean, Swiss and South Tyrolean mountains. From there, the course leads downhill in a magical mix of views, ease and adventure. At the same time, it embeds itself naturally into the landscape with its single trail character. Like the beginner's loops, the Zirmtrail was built completely without foreign material. After a detour through the romantic stone pine forest, the trail ends at the Bergkastel. The new board of Bergbahnen Nauders is also convinced by the new offer, not only in the frequencies, but also in the revenues, reflecting the importance of the bike offer. Net ticket revenues in summer have increased almost six-fold from 2008 to 2020 and the mountain summer is gaining in importance from year to year. This creates additional year-round and seasonal jobs and benefits not only the mountain railways and the tourism industry, but also all service providers in the region.Perfect for trailbeginners andkidsIn addition, the TVB and cable car managers have created four new kids' and beginners' courses with different levels of difficulty. They are located on the Bergkastel near the Goldwasser adventure world and can be easily reached by a conveyor belt. A detour to the Kidsloop is a good idea. Running bikes with helmets are available for rent for 10 euros per hour and children's bikes with helmets and pads for 15 euros per hour from the BIWAK Dreiländersports rental shop. The use of the conveyor belt with your own bike is free of charge.Offer continues to growIn the coming years, the new area at Bergkastel will continue to grow. Another trail is already under construction and will round off the offer even better. Helmut Wolf, TVB board member, sees the way to the prestigious GOLDBIKEPARK paved: "With the existing and new bike offers, a product has been created that brings direct added value to the region - and that with a manageable investment. "We are continuously developing into a paradise for bikers. This strengthens our region as a summer and holiday destination." The mayor of Nauder, Helmut Spöttl, praises the cross-border cooperation and is pleased with the foresight of the tourism experts who recognised the international trend towards biking early on and are successively expanding the offer in a sustainable manner. "Nauders has been developing as a biking destination in its own direction for decades," explains TVB chairman Armin Falkner."We from Nauders fell in love with the sport early on and have always believed in it. Today we see how biking is growing into a big summer sport - for us locals as well as for our guests. With the new offer, we are in tune with the times and Nauders can consider itself lucky that it invested in the right place at the right time.
