Zirler Kirchtag: Zachäussingen und Festgottesdienst 2021

in 2015, the custom of "Zacchaeus singing" was included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in Austria.

According to an old tradition, the Kirchtag in Zirl is started in an unusual way: the church bells ring from 4:30 a.m. and at 5:00 a.m. the "Zacchaeus melody" resounds from the church tower.
The wind players and singers let the old songs resound twice more, at the church fountain and at the village square.
There, the contemplative part leads into a merry dance.
