Workshop: vom Flachs-Stängel bis zum Garn 2024/2025

In the workshop barn at the Gschlössler organic farm, you can learn more about the background and history of the flax plant. Using old and modern equipment, you will be shown how to make linen yarn from the flax stalks yourself. You can experiment with the various techniques and be inspired by the small natural fibre exhibition.

Experience a welcome break from everyday life and get in touch with this wonderful little fibre. The basic knowledge, the background of the flax workshop, the farm, flax and its history, as well as textile production are conveyed. In addition, old equipment and modern tools are shown and it is explained how the individual processing steps take place. Afterwards there is the opportunity to try everything out for yourself and come into contact with the plant and the fibre.

No previous knowledge is necessary.
