Wiltener Sängerknaben „Benefizkonzert für Waisenkinder in Simbabwe“ 2021

After the construction and support of the two schools in Kenya (Ugari) and Niger (Maradi), as well as the SOS-Kinderwelt and the initiative Licht ins Dunkel, the association "Kinder für Kinder" now dedicates itself to another fascinating project:

The net proceeds of the benefit concert will go towards the construction of the "Faith Farm Children's Home" project by Martin Karombe (from Mutare/Zimbabwe) and Nicole Karombe-Rott (from Polling in Tyrol). The couple, who met in 2014 while working together with orphans in Zimbabwe, have been living in Tyrol since 2017 and are working tirelessly to realise their heart's project.

This is a children's village near Chegutu (about an hour away from the capital Harare), for which the state of Zimbabwe has provided them with 18 hectares of land. The children's village is intended to be as self-sustaining as possible through a farm, i.e. through vegetable cultivation, permaculture and livestock breeding. The two travel to Zimbabwe at least once a year. Within a month, Martin built a round hut on the property for the farmer Sixtus and his family, who now live there, grow vegetables and fruit and tend the 30 goats.

Since the unemployment rate in Zimbabwe is over 90 percent, it is particularly important to the initiators that the children learn a lot about agriculture, and thus will later feed their families by growing their own food. This will help to reduce poverty and the number of orphans in the future. in 2019, the property was fenced in and a well was built. The children's village is to consist of several round huts and be set up like a small village in which 10 children from 0 - 18 years of age live with a caregiver.
