Weltwissen für Kinder – Ada und die Zahlen-Knack-Maschine 2023
Illustration artist Rachel Katstaller
11 February is International Women and Girls in Science Day. We take this opportunity to learn about a famous female mathematician who 180 years ago invented a calculating machine that is the basis of today's computer. Even a programming language is named after this great inventor today. Where did Ada live? And what was it like back then? Rachel Katstaller has illustrated a book on Ada Lovelace and her invention (Ada und die Zahlen-Knack-Maschine, North-South Publishing, 2019). We will dive into the world of Victorian England and create a picture together about Ada and her invention. For children from 7 to 10 years.
Registration by 6 February: teilnahme.stadtbibliothek@innsbruck.gv.at
Rachel Katstaller, born and raised in El Salvador. She studied strategic design. She now lives in Innsbruck with her cat Hemingway and works as an illustrator for various publishers.
