Wilten Boys' Choir: Christmas Oratorio J. S. Bach (1-3 and 4-6)


The choir and soloists of the Wilten Boys' Choir sing under the direction of Johannes Stecher. As was customary in Bach's time, all the solos come from the choir: boys take on the soprano and alto solos, with Pascal Ladner (alto), Clemens Schmid (alto), Matteo Rasic (tenor), Samuel Strobl (tenor), Oliver Sailer (bass) and Victor Dublyanskiy singing the other solo parts. The Academia Jacobus Stainer baroque orchestra, with numerous specialists for the instruments of the period, conveys a contemplative mood and sets the festive mood for the Christmas holidays. The choir and soloists tell the story of the birth of Jesus, ingeniously set to music by one of the best composers in the history of mankind.
