Art exhibition "TZOLKIN , woven time 13:20"
The Tyrolean artist Andreas Maximilian is showing his works in the Botanical Garden of the University of Innsbruck. In colourful watercolour paintings, he refers to the high culture of the Maya in Guatemala and Mexico, to the Mayan calendar and to the enchanting landscapes of Central America.
The artist had many opportunities to get to know Mayan country while travelling with his partner Patricia del Mar.
Patricia del Mar carried out ethnological research on the textiles of the Mayan culture there, which ultimately led to her thesis and later to the art book "Guatemala Rainbow Land". This book is also the art catalogue for Andreas' exhibition and will be presented at the vernissage.
