The Doors: Live at the Bowl 68 Sonderausgabe 2021

On 5 July 1968, The Doors set off their very own fireworks on the famous Hollywood Bowl stage with their legendary performance, widely regarded as one of the best film recordings of their concerts. In the run-up to the performance, which followed the release of their third studio album "Waiting For The Sun" and the number one hit on the US singles charts "Hello, I Love You", the four band members had spent two years honing their live performance and were in absolute top form.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of L.A. WOMAN (1971), The Doors' last studio album, Doors fans worldwide are now in for a major cinematic experience on 4 November 2021. With the film "The Doors: Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition", movie theatres will be transformed into concert halls where fan communities around the world can experience the performance of Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek up close and personal. "It sounds like standing right next to us on stage at the Hollywood Bowl," says Ray Manzarek.

This special event celebrating L.A. WOMAN also includes a brand new musical performance by John Densmore and Robby Krieger, filmed exclusively for the cinema, as well as a conversation with the two musicians and Doors manager Jeff Jampol.

The "Special Edition" for cinema is a unique cinematic experience for fans. The film and audio tracks have been re-edited in stunning Dolby ATMOS® (where available) and 5.1 surround sound by Bruce Botnick, The Doors' original sound and mixing engineer who recorded the 1968 live performance at the Hollywood Bowl and co-produced L.A.WOMAN. The film "The Doors: Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition", which consists of the film and sound recordings meticulously restored and re-edited using the original negative reels from the cameras as well as the original audio tracks, offers the entire concert in its completeness, including "Hello, I Love You", "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)", "Light My Fire" and "The End".
