The well-known Tyrolean meteorologist and glaciologist Rudi Mair talks about alpine safety and his experiences with avalanches and snow. Everyone knows Rudi Mair. No name is more associated with avalanches in the public eye than his. Hardly anyone knows the snow and the dangers associated with it better than him and hardly anyone has had a greater influence on the development of the avalanche warning service - both nationally and internationally - in recent decades.
