Jonas (11) wants nothing more than to visit his cool grandpa Bernard in Slovakia during the summer holidays. Since the death of his father, there has been nothing but trouble at home, and so Jonas runs away after another scandal.

Through a ruse, Jonas allows Bernard to pick him up halfway there. The long-desired summer at Grandpa's can begin. But grandpa is no longer the way Jonas remembers him. Now promoted to early retirement, he behaves strangely and moodily. Even after 3 days, there is no sign of the hoped-for time full of fun and action.

When Jonas makes friends with the neighbour's child Alex, the two of them hatch a crazy plan for grandpa: a new hobby, a new wife or a new job is needed!
