This heart-warming comedy tells the story of a woman who realises a long-cherished dream with a great deal of courage and self-irony. Shirley is disappointed with life. The household and a grumpy husband are all that's left of her youthful dreams. The enterprising, spirited Shirley of old is long gone. Dismissed - that's how she feels. The children have left home, her marriage resembles a service relationship and her only audience is the kitchen wall. Her friend Jane's invitation to accompany her to Greece bursts into this not exactly exhilarating mood ..
