Romeo und Julia (Prokofjew) ROH 2022

The ballet Romeo and Juliet has become a great classic of modern ballet since its creation by Royal Ballet director Kenneth MacMillan and its premiere in 1965. In this special Valentine's Day performance, the star-crossed lovers try to find their way in colourful, bustling Renaissance Verona, where bustling markets all too quickly degenerate into sword fights and a family feud ends in tragedy for both the Montagues and the Capulets.
