Red Bull Rail Yard 2022
Red Bull Rail Yard attracts international snowboarders
to Kühtai/AUT from 31 March to 2 April 2022
Innsbruck, AUT (28.02.22) The premiere of Red Bull Rail Yard 2022 is just around the corner. From 31 March to 2 April 2022, the international snowboard jib scene will meet in Kühtai outside Innsbruck to end the season in style. Red Bull Rail Yard is a session by riders for riders. It's all about creativity, innovation and, above all, having fun snowboarding together. The riders' playground is the specially built "Railgarden" with countless rails and features, which will challenge pros and amateurs alike, but will also be a lot of fun. At the end of the season, Red Bull Rail Yard will entice riders with an impressive total prize money of €15,000
THE RIDERS - A MIXED FIELD OF STARTERS - Red Bull Rail Yard The idea behind the event is Austrian Olympic starter Clemens Millauer, who not only feels at home in Big Air, but also on rails. Currently injured, he will play a key role on site as an interface between riders, organisation and judges. He is already playing a leading role in the conception of the sporting format and the set-up. The field of riders already confirmed is a colourful mix. Slopestyle and big air specialists mix with core jibbers. Olympic champions, rookies and amateurs: they will all make an appearance in the Railgarden in Kühtai. Double Olympic champion Anna Gasser, for example, won't miss the opportunity to tackle the setup, as will Australian Tess Coady, who returned home from the Olympic Games with a bronze medal. They will meet rail specialists like Rachida Aoulad and Veroniqi Hanssen (both NED) in Kühtai. In the men's race, the US-Americans Zak Hale and Luke Winkelmann will travel to Tyrol, as will the Canadian Frank Jobin. Leon Vockensperger, Benny Urban and Flo Corzelius (GER) will mix up the park with them, as will Jesse Augustinus (NED), Nicolas Huber (SUI), Toni Kerkelä (FIN) and Sebi Springeth (ITA). They are all looking forward to the Railgarden, which offers them a great playground for the event week. Numerous rails and features can be flexibly combined and promise tricky and creative sessions. Clemens Millauer says: "It will be a very unusual rail session, which has never been done before. What's really cool is the open qualifier, so really everyone can join in!"
