Shaggy figures, rattling loudly and making faces, parade through the streets. It is impossible to imagine the Advent season in Tyrol without Krampus and Perchten runs. A Krampus Run or Perchten Run is an unforgettable experience and is as much a part of the Bergweihnacht Innsbruck as the famous Christkindlmarkt or the contemplative Advent Singing. From the end of November to the beginning of December, you can also experience this special tradition in the city of Innsbruck. By the way: Perchten are figures of a custom handed down from pagan times. The stronghold of the custom is mainly in the area of the Austrian Eastern Alps.
