Every major social event makes history. It imprints itself on the collective memory and is stored there. But do all members of society experience these events in the same way? Is the history that is recorded in the collective memory really always the same? Who writes this history?
The Second History Association took the release of the Ibiza video in May 2019 as an opportunity to explore precisely these questions. The result is a colourful, dazzling paper theatre piece based on the autobiographical story of four strong, Black women* in Innsbruck and their daily struggle against racism and corruption. In a humorous and creative way, the events are presented to the audience from the perspective of a marginalised group in Innsbruck using paper theatre. This should and may stimulate thought and discussion, because history should always be written together.
