In her solo recital, the internationally renowned baroque violinist Annegret Siedel impressively demonstrates that Bach's solo works for violin follow on from a great tradition of solo violin music. For her exciting tour of discovery through the baroque violin repertoire, she can draw on an exquisite instrument: a violin by the Absam master Jakob Stainer, whose instruments set standards and ideally corresponded to the sound ideal of the baroque period. Annegret Siedel's violin playing is characterised by stylistic confidence, virtuosity and a fine sense of sound. The programme includes rarities as well as central works of the violin literature.
