LUMAGICA Innsbruck 2022/2023

The magical festival of lights in Innsbruck is back and will once again light up the Hofgarten this year. The glowing figures and the magic of the courtyard garden put a happy smile on the faces of children and adults alike and delight families, couples and groups of friends alike.

Many visitors to the Lumagica come from Innsbruck and the surrounding area, but Italian guests also don't miss out on this magic in the Hofgarten and come to Innsbruck for a weekend with a visit to the park of lights.

If you also want to visit the Lumagica, you have the chance from 18.11.2022. With a runtime until the end of January, there is plenty of time for a trip to the Hofgarten with your loved ones. Due to the large number of visitors, it is advisable to reserve a ticket with a fixed timeslot in advance. This way you can avoid long waits at the box office or sold-out evenings.

Let yourself be enchanted and come to Lumagica.

A park of lights despite the energy crisis?

Everywhere there is talk of energy shortages and cost-cutting measures, but a park is lit up in the night? That may sound strange at first. But if you do the math for the Lumagica in the Hofgarten, it quickly becomes clear: The park has such a low power consumption that 10 families who are at home cooking and using other electrical appliances use more energy.

Thanks to the exclusive use of LED lighting, it is possible for us to realise light parks with extraordinarily low energy consumption.

To be quite precise: If we take the values of 2021, the park consumes less electricity converted to one person than streaming a film does. And that's just one source of electricity in the household, often people still have their mobile phone in their hands and are doing something with it. So on average, people who visit the park use less than they do at home.

Ticket prices for Lumagica 2022

The ticket prices have to be differentiated between Monday - Thursday and Friday - Sunday (as well as public holidays). During the week it is a bit cheaper (15€ for a standard ticket without discounts) than on the weekend (17€ per person).

However, there are also family tickets and other reductions for students, senior citizens, schoolchildren, people with disabilities, etc.

What awaits you: Impressions of the Lumagica

You can't really imagine what Lumagica is all about? Then watch the video at the end or take a look at the following pictures.

A highlight for the whole family

Perfect for the whole family. The Hofgarten itself is already a paradise for children. But at night, the Hofgarten becomes a unique and wonderful place full of magic and enchantment. The many illuminated corners let the Hofgarten shine in a completely new light.

Mysterious and full of surprises. That's what it feels like for adults. How must children feel? Adventure around every corner and something to discover everywhere that is guaranteed never to be seen during the day.

Attraction for all Innsbruck visitors & tourists

But not only for children and families. The Lumagica is also a highlight for tourists. Whether from Italy, Germany or even further afield. Last year in particular, many people visited Innsbruck and took the opportunity to pay a visit to the Lumagica.

So if you are also in the area or planning a visit to Innsbruck, then a visit to the Lichterpark might be interesting for you and the company of your choice.

General description

"Once around the world" in the Innsbruck Court Garden

An allegorical "journey around the world" will be offered to marvelling guests at LUMAGICA Innsbruck 2022. From 18 November 2022 to 29 January 2023, a local marmot will accompany you on a lumagic tour of all five continents of this earth.

On this journey, you will meet the animals of this world: larger-than-life moose in Scandinavia, illuminated kangaroos in Australia, colourful camels and monkeys in Africa, and penguins and sea lions waiting at the South Pole. Sightseeing is not neglected on the journey around the world either: the Statue of Liberty in New York is visited, a stop is made at a "Lovebench" in Paris and music is celebrated in London. Back in Europe, it's off to Innsbruck, where a surprise awaits the groundhog and the visitors.

More about the Lumagica in Innsbruck

A trip around the world as a motto, a luminous balloon as a symbolic image and a marmot as a travel guide: LUMAGICA Innsbruck will take its visitors on an exciting journey in 2022/2023 - our guests will become passengers who, together with a Tyrolean "Murmele", will embark on a journey to new adventures. The historical backdrop of the Hofgarten, which has been delighting its visitors since the early 15th century, rounds off the unique travel experience, which is adorned by impressive light installations along the walking path. The 10-hectare park becomes a radiant setting for magical stories around the globe.

WELCOME ABOARD
The lumagic journey begins in Europe - the first stop is at the "Bees of Vienna". Archduchess Maria Theresa was keen to promote beekeeping. in 1769 she founded the world's first state beekeeping school and this is made the lumagical theme here. The journey continues to Paris: in the "City of Love", precisely this theme will be made the visual hook - an oversized heart and a "Lovebench" will be the main attractions. Next stop is London: here the focus will be on music. In "Scandinavia", the astonished guests will encounter larger-than-life, glowing moose, before moving on to Asia to the Siberian wolves. A lumagic panda bear symbolises China, luminous dolphins and turtles the Indian region, and it goes without saying that the "Australia" station requires illuminated kangaroos. In Antarctica - right at the South Pole - penguins and sea lions await visitors and in the southern part of America there are cowboys, cacti and a naturally colourful chameleon to be seen. The Statue of Liberty is visited in New York and the world's largest beaver awaits in Canada. Alaska has a bear to offer, which children in particular will love because you can and may hug it. Last stop: Africa - here it becomes lively and colourful: camels, dunes, palm trees, monkeys - the continent is presented as a colourful oasis. Back in Europe, it's off to Innsbruck, where a surprise awaits the marmot - and the guests anyway.

OLD PARTNERS - NEW CONCEPT
"You have already seen LUMAGICA Innsbruck? No, you haven't!". Thomas Mark has clear words when it comes to the third edition of the "lumagic" park of lights in the Hofgarten. As president of MK Illumination, Mark is responsible for the Innsbruck park of lights and has known the project from the very beginning. "We had great success with our lumagic park of lights in the first two years. As much as we were happy about that, the challenge to come up with something completely new this time became even bigger," Mark explains. "Our team did a great job and put the concept on a completely new footing. The team from Innsbruck Tourism is also going on the Lumagian journey again. "If you can offer a trip around the world from Innsbruck with such low CO2 emissions, then we are happy to be the travel agency," jokes Barbara Plattner, Managing Director of Innsbruck Tourismus. "LUMAGICA Innsbruck was and is one of our absolute winter highlights as part of the Innsbruck Mountain Christmas. We are happy to support this fantastic project again. We wish those responsible every success and especially many international guests," says Plattner.

LUMAGICA light parks are a luminous event format from MK-Illumination, the global leader in festive decorative lighting.
