Content: Since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis in March 2020, the pandemic diary genre has been booming. They not only document the present, but also reflect on it: What kind of society do we want to live in in the future? Using the example of Marlene Streeruwitz's fictional coronavirus diary So ist die Welt geworden. The Covid-19 novel in dialogue with other examples of the genre, the question is addressed: What kind of literature do we need in the crisis? And: Is literature "systemically relevant"?
