Seesaw Project "At the Threshold. The boundaries of the body and the world"
Choreographers and dancers from the open collective "Seesaw Project" are guests at the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum from 12 to 15 April. In several dance labs in Milan, Trento and Innsbruck, they are working on the production "At the Threshold. The boundaries of the body and the world".
A "threshold" is a place with uncertain, moving borders that have to be traced again and again. A place of passage that forces us to move as guests.
In the laboratory in the rooms of the Folk Art Museum, which is open to visitors during opening hours, the dancers will develop a choreography that consists of a physical and a verbal level in confrontation with the objects on display in the museum.
The artists develop a story about border areas and the borders of the body. What do borders mean in today's society? How does the body experience borders subjectively and socially? How can one stand on the threshold? Are museums places where the boundaries of the body and the world can be negotiated?
"Seesaw Project" is an open system founded in 2017 by choreographer, philosopher and psychologist Veronica Boniotti. In their productions, the choreographers, dancers and composers combine different artistic genres such as dance, literature and music with scientific findings from the fields of philosophy, psychology and cognitive science.
They deal with the way people live together and exchange ideas. Looking at the past, they raise current observations of society.
