Klammer– Chasing the Line 2021

A fast-paced film about the exceptional athlete Franz Klammer. Franz Klammer is still internationally regarded as the best downhill skier of all time. There are two reasons for this: One is that Franz Klammer is still the record holder for the most World Cup downhill races won. The second is the Olympic downhill race of 5 February 1976. In the downhill race of the 1976 Winter Olympics there is only one favourite: Franz Klammer. The charismatic downhill skier, only 22 years old, carries the hopes of the whole of Austria on his shoulders. While the pressure from the public reaches astronomical proportions, his ski manufacturer wants to change the equipment at the last minute for promotional reasons, the weather conditions get worse by the day, the mountain proves defiant and rival racers are on his heels, Franz has to face the ultimate challenge: Finding the strength to conquer the mountain on his own. But to do so, he needs the love of his life, Eva, who gives him the courage to free himself from all constraints in order to compete in the race of his life
