Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik – Vespro Veneziano 2022

The early Baroque programme "Vespro Veneziano" will focus on an excerpt from Claudio Monteverdi's "Marian Vespers", the eight-part Magnificat and psalms from his collection "Selva Morale e spirituale" as well as motets by Alessandro Grandi and Giovanni Valentini. Organ works by Giovanni Gabrieli and Francesco Usper provide the setting. The beauty and complexity of the works performed here may give an impression of the splendour with which church services were celebrated at great expense in Venice at that time
