Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik – Amici cari 2022

At the centre of the programme of music by and for Handel's orchestral colleagues are arias and cantatas with impressive obbligato parts, written for the oboist Giuseppe Sammartini, the cellist Andrea Caporale, and the Concerto grosso op. 6 No. 12, composed in October 1739, with extensive solos for violin and violoncello. In addition, there are vocal and orchestral works by Giuseppe Sammartini, Pietro Castrucci and Francesco Barsanti. Audience favourite Sophie Rennert will perform the vocal works with her crystal-clear mezzo-soprano. She will be supported by the ensemble Le Musiche Nove under the direction of Claudio Osele, which already thrilled the Innsbruck audience in 2018 with its performance of Hasse's "Semele"
