Herz Jesu Feuer 2023

Traditionally, the fires are lit on the Tyrolean mountains and mountain peaks on the eve of Sacred Heart Sunday. The history of these fires goes back to the Tyrolean War of Independence in 1796, when the Tyroleans swore eternal allegiance to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in gratitude for the hard-fought but victorious victory.
