Herbert Hainer has been President of FC Bayern since 15 November 2019. In addition, he leads the Supervisory Board of FC Bayern München AG, of which he has been a member since its foundation in 2002, for a long time as Deputy Chairman and for a transitional period also already as Chairman.

Herbert Hainer began his career after graduating with a degree in business administration at the international Procter&Gamble Group before moving to the sporting goods manufacturer adidas in 1987. After holding several management positions there, he was appointed to the Executive Board in 1997 and Chairman of the Executive Board in 2001. He led the Group for 15 years, during which time the company's value increased from three billion euros to twelve times that amount. in 2002, Hainer was responsible for adidas AG's ten percent stake in FC Bayern München AG - a fundamental contribution to the construction of the Allianz Arena. In 2016, he resigned from his post at his own request. Today, he is a member of the Supervisory Board of Allianz SE.

As in his time at adidas, Herbert Hainer attaches great importance to social responsibility and sustainable development at FC Bayern. He has been an ardent fan of the German record champion since his youth. He has received numerous honours for his services and achievements in sports management, including the Bambi in the field of business, the Image Award, the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and the Bavarian Order of Merit. in 2005 he was named Entrepreneur of the Year and in 2010 Manager of the Year.
