The University and Provincial Library for Tyrol (ULB), founded in 1745, is freely accessible to all residents of Tyrol from the age of 16. 3.5 million books and over 8000 journals can be borrowed or consulted free of charge. As a regional library, the ULB archives all works written in and about Tyrol. It is thus not only the largest literary repository in the state, but also the largest library in western Austria
