FLORIAN NÄHRER – once in a lifetime 2022

Florian Nährer has already exhibited this year with great success at the SPARK Art Fair Vienna and the ENTER Art Fair in Copenhagen. We are very pleased to be able to present the first solo exhibition in our gallery in Innsbruck after several participations in exhibitions. Florian Nährer's artistic work is characterised by a strong colourfulness and informal geometric formal language. His paintings are ambiguous, philosophical references and the processed theme remain unclear at first and want to be sensed and thought about anew. In his painting, Florian Nährer works in series. He understands painting as a process, the painting medium serves him as an open playing field. The actual composition and picture finding takes place directly during the painting process, as a mental continuation of the previous steps. His latest works seem to be subjected to a consistent geometric rigour as well as to an order - important for the artist - within which, however, he can move completely freely artistically. Brushstrokes remain consciously visible, lower layers of painting stand out on the surface of the picture, the boundaries of the geometric surfaces overlap in irregular form, thus dissolving the formal rigour in favour of an exciting, diffuse contradictoriness. The works are applied to MDF panels in a contrasting way, which reinforces the spatial extension of the works. The exhibition shows excerpts from the current series; these series of works are supplemented by individual, also sculptural objects of various formats.
