ATTENTION: This date is in the past
Eröffnung: THERE IS STILL MORE TO COME / MASHA GODOVANNAYA 2024
FR 06.12.24
19:00 OPENING & WELCOME
Daniela Lanziner Mühlberger (chairwoman), Ivana Marjanović (director), Masha Godovannaya (artist)
18:00 DOORS OPEN with a guided tour through the exhibition
Curated by Ivana Marjanović
Masha Godovannaya's audiovisual works focus on landscape, queerness, migration, auto-/ethnography and the everyday. She sees her production as artistic research and collective action. Hybrid films are a central element of her work, in which manually developed 16mm material is combined with digital video. This combines a documentary approach with sensual aesthetics, experimental cinema, queer relationality and embodied ethics.
The exhibition reflects various moments of the artist's transnational existence in poetic, dreamy, haunting and realistic ways, reflecting on themes of love, motherhood, activism, collectivity and the uncanny of urban spaces and landscapes. In addition to Godovannaya's individual works, the exhibition also shows video and photo documentations as well as artefacts from the queer-feminist art group "Unwanted Organisation", which she co-founded in St. Petersburg (Russia) in 2015.
