An impressive show by a great Tyrolean artist
The team at Galerie Nothburga is pleased to present paintings by the Tyrolean artist Elmar Kopp. The painter, who died two years ago, was artistically active in his studio every day until he was 90 years old. He studied painting and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1951 and was awarded the title of professor in 1982
Commissioned works at home and abroad, prizes and numerous awards have honoured his creative work.
Elmar Kopp impresses with a broad artistic œuvre. A large number of his works in public space are known as façade designs, also reliefs or free sculptures, as well as concrete glass windows, stained glass and mosaics. "With an unbroken will to create and design" (son Dietmar Kopp), he devoted himself more to painting and created still lifes as well as landscapes in intensely luminous colours.
