Former army ranger Jackson Briggs wants a change. He soon gets a job offer, but it comes with a special challenge. He is supposed to bring the unmanageable and unpredictable dog Lulu, who is traumatised by war missions, to her owner's funeral. Jackson and Lulu set off on a journey along the US Pacific coast in a pickup truck and literally get to grips with each other.

Acting star Channing Tatum makes his directorial debut with this emotional and comical buddy and road movie, a kind of "Scott & Huutch", together with his production partner Reid Carolin, who already successfully cooperated on the "Magic Mike" films. Tatum also takes the lead role.
