The construction of a mountain railway in the Tyrolean mountains leads to disagreements between workers and the construction company. The situation becomes increasingly tense - until the fatal showdown in the impassable, stormy summit area. Horváth's folk play was first performed in Hamburg in 1927. The author drew inspiration from the construction of the Tyrolean Zugspitze railway from Ehrwald and the stories that circulated about it. Jonas Knecht stages the timelessly relevant social drama about the class struggle and the power of nature as a live radio play.
