The first part of the trilogy: Hobbit Frodo is to bring the "One Ring" to safety from Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor. Ambassadors from the lands not yet under Mordor's rule meet at the court of Elrond, whose wisdom is known throughout Middle-earth. They discuss how to escape the growing power of Sauron. They decide to do what Sauron would least expect: to secretly carry the "One Ring", once forged by Sauron and the epitome of his strength, to the land of Mordor far to the south-east and destroy it in the forge fire of Mount Doom.
