„Das Jüngste Gericht“ – Konzert der Stadtmusikkapelle Amras 2023

Special music, in a special place, at a special time of the year. This year we would like to invite you to a hopefully special concert evening in the church "Maria am Gestade" in Sieglanger.
Even the earliest forms of music were often heard in connection with spiritual or religious rituals. Music composed for liturgical purposes also plays an important role in Western culture. And even if fewer and fewer people live out their faith, they still usually enter religious places reverently and respectfully. Reasons enough for us to dedicate ourselves to the delightful topic of "music in church" and to offer you, our esteemed audience, an emotional experience.
Some of the works we would like to play for you have already stood the test of time - George Frideric Handel's "Overture in D Minor" was composed in 1717 - others are only a few years old, such as the piece "Compostela" by the French composer Thierry Deleruyelle, which describes a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Another exciting work gives the name to our concert programme: "The Last Judgement". At first glance it resembles a typical Italian overture, but it was originally composed in 1879 for the then reformed military bands of Italy. Also experience Daria Seebacher on the one hand as musical director of the performance of our Kids Club and on the other hand as vocal soloist with "Panis Angelicus".
