ARIADNE AUF NAXOS (Metropolitan 2021-22) 2022

Opera history knows few such congenial collaborations as that of the composer Richard Strauss and the writer Hugo von Hofmannsthal. This is particularly impressive in the work on their third opera Ariadne auf Naxos. In the title role of this enchanting masterpiece, the impressive young soprano and shooting star Lise Davidsen presents one of her parade roles for the first time at the Met.
