ANTIFASCIST SPIRITS – Lecture Performance 2023

With her lecture performance ANTIFASCIST SPIRITS, performer, artist, curator and activist Nataša Mackuljak draws a connection between the anti-fascist resistance of women during the Second World War and the current feminist discourse in the regions of the former Yugoslavia. Her narrative is based on historical events and her personal ancestral and feminist background. By combining performance, personal narrative as testimony and pedagogical education, Mackuljak creates an anti-fascist and feminist intervention in an Austrian art institution and makes the audience her accomplices.
Nataša Mackuljak (born in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a performer, multimedia artist, social worker, curator and currently managing director of the transcultural festival for art and activism WIENWOCHE.
