in 1658 Jakob (Jacobus) Stainer was appointed official violin maker at the Innsbruck court, which led to the most important violinists of the time visiting his workshop: Viviani, Schmelzer, Mealli and even Franz Biber travelled to Tyrol. The ensemble Ars Antiqua Austria, led by Gunar Letzbor, is one of the most creative and most active young talents of the Austrian early music scene and will perform their works.
