Ambraser Schlosskonzerte: Buonasera, Monsieur! 2022

We are in France in 1725: Domenico Scarlatti is in Paris for the second time in his life and performs at Pierre Crozat's "Hôtel particulier". Was Jean-Philippe Rameau, the new, albeit no longer quite young star among French keyboard artists, present? Most probably. After all, some of the technical challenges and musical phrases in Scarlatti's sonatas and Rameau's harpsichord books are similar. Possible encounters between Scarlatti and Rameau are staged by the French ensemble Le Caravansérail together with soprano Rachel Redmond in a programme of chamber cantatas and concertante ensemble music.
