Ambraser Schlosskonzerte: A quattro violini 2022

Sonatas and concertos with four violins always occupy a special position in string music of the 17th and 18th centuries - regardless of whether they were written in double-choir form, in five-part movements with continuo or purely "a quattro violini". The Ensemble Diderot from Paris has put together an entire programme of works for this challenging and inspiring instrumentation. It begins in Italy and ends in France, heralded by a chime by Jacques Aubert cast in concerto form.
