47. Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik 2023

The 47th Innsbruck Festival of Early Music will be celebrated in the unique setting of the Tyrolean capital from 11 July to 29 August 2023. The Innsbruck Festival is one of the most renowned festivals of baroque music in Europe and has been a magnet for visitors from all over the world since 1976. The broad and multifaceted programme includes staged opera performances, festival and church concerts, free open-air events and workshops for children and adults.

Highlights this summer will be three staged productions by the Italian master Antonio Vivaldi: "Olimpiade", "Juditha triumphans" and, as a Baroque opera:Jung, "La fida ninfa". This is the last Festwochen season of the current artistic director Alessandro De Marchi, who will be conducting both the opera "Olimpiade" and the staged oratorio "Juditha triumphans". The Olimpiade will be directed by Stefano Vizioli, who has already thrilled audiences with his production of the opera La Dori in 2019. The baroque opera:Jung will be conducted by Chiara Cattani, who already musically directed the final concert of the Cesti Competition last summer. La fida ninfa" features the successful participants of last year's "International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera Pietro Antonio Cesti". In the meantime, the Cesti Competition, which was founded in 2010 by Alessandro De Marchi, has become one of the most important singing competitions in this field.
