2023 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships 2023

It's an event that will be a smash hit and a blast! The World Mountain and Trail Running Championships, or WMTRC for short, will take place in Innsbruck-Stubai from 6 to 10 June 2023 and will be the culmination of a ten-day festival kicked off by the Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival from 1 June to 4 June 2023. At the World Championships in Tyrol, athletes from all over the world will run for medals in four competitions - Vertical Uphill, Trail Short, Trail Long, Mountain Classic.
Medals will be contested on varied, challenging trails - and on iconic ones at that. The title fights will take place in some of the most beautiful places in the Alps, in the Kalkkögel, the so-called "Dolomites of North Tyrol", at the foot of the Elfer peak with a view of the Stubai Glacier, and on the Nordkette, which towers over Innsbruck. The phenomenal view of the Tyrolean mountains is always in view of both runners and spectators.
A comprehensive spectator transport concept will make it possible for all spectators to experience the World Championships up close. Shuttle buses will be an integral part of this concept and will regularly stop at selected points along the course on fixed routes. This allows spectators to travel flexibly - and without having to get into their own cars - from one point to the next. In addition to the practical benefits, this also brings ecological advantages. In combination with the existing mountain railway structures, a large part of the tracks will be optimally accessible for all spectators. Be there, cheer along!
