The Adult Education Centre Tyrol was founded in autumn 1945 as a non-party association. From the very beginning, the purpose of the VHS was to offer the population the opportunity for further education in accordance with democratic and human rights principles: diverse, high quality and affordable, in short: knowledge for all.

We stand for a wide-ranging offer that is contemporary and future-oriented, but also includes traditional cultural assets. We represent a comprehensive concept of education that includes all areas of life. Appreciative interaction, tolerance, openness, transparency, social, gender and ethnic equality are particularly important to us.
